Its a pretty awesome product, daylight shots are damn good, since its an action cam don’t expect much at night, you can get the magnetic case by reaching out to DJI support, best reach out to the seller, the magnetic mounts are super sturdy and you won’t notice much heating issue after the Firmware update,
Usually i take quick clips shots at 4k 30 so haven’t seen heating issues yet

The internet is a wash with reports of this unit overheating. I decided to try it out. First of all the form factor, build quality and finish are superb on this camera, If somewhat delicate feeling for an action camera. The magnetic part of this camera for mounting is brilliant. However it’s simply not fit for purpose. It overheats and shuts off after 5mins 20s use. After waiting for unit to cool down I then got another 2mins and 20s before shut off. Simply unusable. Surely DJI must know this happened before sending it out for release? £455.00 for an action camera with only 5mins of use works out at 91.00 per minute for those curious. Sent back!

Ero veramente curioso di provare sta action cam visto i vari leaks e tutti i rumors prima dell’uscita ufficiale.
Mi piaceva anche tanto l’idea di non fare una action 2 come la prima edizione potenziata , ma qualcosa di diverso , innovativo.
Tutti dicevano sara una bomba pero alla fine hmmmm. Non ci siamo.
Vi dico gia che possiedo una pocket 2 ( la quale staamo) una Insta360 GO2 e anche un iphone 13 pro max anche se non centra niente questo ultimo ( pero ogni tanto lo utilizo con gimbal e filmic pro se ci sono cose importanti da registrare. Si riesce a fare il meglio con l’iphone13 se vi interessa la qualita pero non e affatto pratico per uso quotidiano..)
Volevo acquistarla non tanto per sostituire la pocket 2
ma sostituire la Insta360 Go2 (che ultimamente utilizzo sempre di più)
Molto valida anche lei ma ne ha 2-3 difetti (come l’overheating con modalità di registrazione pro mode e fps alti , piu la qualita fino a 2K. Ehh ragazzi purtroppo nessuna camera e perfetta)
Penso che sta action 2 e paragonabile di piu alla Insta Go2 ( praticamente copiato quasi tutto ) e non al pocket 2 che e una vlog camera ma neanche alla goPro10 che ritengo la action piu completa.
Quindi ho fatto subito l’acquisto e sono 2gg che la provo ma purtroppo niente da fare.
A confronto con la Insta360 Go2 la qualità dell’immagine e superiore in giornata e anche l’audio e migliore (nettamente meglio l’audio) pero basta.
Low light sono quasi identiche per non dire forse un pelino meglio la Insta360 (ricordo la insta go2 si ha un sensore più piccolo 1/2.3 ma con F2.2 contro i 1/1,7 con F2.8 della action 2 quindi low light sono molto paragonabili) .
Per il resto preferisco l’insta go2 per le possibilità di post produzione in modalita pro ( non vi spiego cosa vuole dire ma chi conosce le Insta avra capito)
Quindi vale i 200€ in piu che costa per avere un immagine in piena giornata migliore?
Nel mio caso no perche ho anche la pocket 2 che li batte tutte 2 ste piccoline ( per non parlare dell’iphone 13 pro max )
Quindi a confronto con la Insta360 GO2 si e un po meglio ma costa anche quasi il doppio.
Forse la versione senza il doppio monitor (quella con la batteria aggiuntiva) che sta a 399 mentre la Insta Go2 a 319 hmm forse qui per 80€ prenderei la action 2 perche e piu completa, e sperando anche che con i vari futuri aggiornamenti la possono rendere migliore correggendo vari difetti e prima di tutto l’overheating ovvero il surriscaldamento che sulla action 2 e peggio sia della gopro10 che della Insta Go2.
Poi vedo che alcuni la fanno confrontare con la Pocket 2. Ragazzi non ha senso. Va bene fare paragoni con una Insta Go2 , va bene anche con una Gopro dai pero con la pocket 2 che senso ha?
La pocket 2 e una camera completamente diversa (vera vlog camera e non tanto action) e come qualità sia in pieno sole che low light non ha paragoni. Dicono che hanno lo stesso sensor. ma che stesso sensore?.
Si tutte 2 1/1.7 ma la pocket 2 con un F1.8 con piu megapixels mentre ripeto la action 2 con F2.8.
Vi dico solo che la pocket 2 nelle situazione di scarsa luminosità riesce a 4k 24fps con un ISO 400 a catturare un immagine migliore e più luminosa che la action 2 impostandola a 4k 24fps con ISO 800. Bisogna salire a 1600 sulla action 2 per avere una luminosità simile ma con ISO1600 avete anche un rumore della madonna. La distrugge completamente. Ma anche per vloggare il gimbal ovvero la stabilizzazione meccanica e nettamente superiore della stabilizzazione elettronica della action 2 (chiamato Rockstady 2).
Se principalmente volete una vlog camera non state a buttare i vostri soldi su questa action 2.
Niente non vi racconto altro perché posso scrivere all’infinito provandola per bene sti 2gg e facendo varie prove una accanto all’altra sia con la pocket 2 ma di piu con la Insta Go2
Non mi ha convinto assolutamente.
Se volete prendere un all in one (sempre con limiti perché nessuna camera e perfetta per tutto) andate alla gopro10 che ha un costo simile o risparmiando alla Insta Go2.
Se volete una vlog camera con pochissimi scenari action allora pocket 2 con occhi chiusi.
L’idea di farla più piccola , piu versatile piu maneggevole stil Insta Go2 , MODULARE…. era stupenda ( e non un solito upgrade della action 1 come fa la Gopro ormai da 7-8 anni con lo stesso form factor stesso sensore…….) ma niente da fare. Mi dispiace Dji ma questa volta deluso.

I had high-ish hopes that this would be at least almost as good as my Hero 10 but in a nice, tiny package. Sadly I feel DJI really messed up this time. Much as the build quality is exquisite and the video quality is wonderful, this camera has problems that are so bad that the product is basically unusable for me.
The main issue is that it overheats in just 3-10 minutes, depending on the resolution and frame rate. It just can’t record 4K video reliably unless it’s cold outside or there is a constant breeze blowing over the camera. And even trying to record a bunch consecutive clips in 2.7K60 is a no go unless I let it cool for 5-10 minutes between clips. Now that it’s winter you may find that it works pretty well and may wonder why everyone is complaining about it overheating, but come summer you may realise that this camera overheats to an annoying degree and this really interrupts what you’re trying to do.
As a short clip camera it’s good and if it was half the price I would say go for it, but at this cost, no way.
The USB connection is not compatible with Windows 7. The magnetic design might seem like a good idea but the novelty soon wears off and the problems become apparent.
I would not describe it as an action camera because it’s too fragile and it can’t be relied on to actually record the action without overheating in the middle of the moment.
It’s bizarre that DJI keep releasing cameras that are only 75% finished and charging an extremely high price for such half cooked products. I’m still waiting for them to fix the tracking on the Pocket 2 after a year. My faith that they’ll fix the overheating issue is about 5%.
Their trend now is to keep hiking the prices but not bothering to make cameras that work properly on release day. Buy now, wait for it to work properly at some point in the next year…maybe.
This camera should not be sold in this state. I am returning mine. Maybe in 6-12 months it will be in a more usable state after a bunch of updates but it’s unusable right now for 4K work.
The aluminium finish is beautiful on day one but quickly becomes scratched. The latches that hold the two modules together become loose after just a week of use. There’s no lens protector. The battery is built-in and the units are completely sealed and glued together, so in 3 years when the battery no longer holds a charge the whole camera goes in the garbage.
Ultimately I just don’t think it’s worth the cost. The top of the range GoPro is a hundred dollars less and far more capable in every way.
I almost forgot to mention that you need to register a DJI account and agree to give up some of your privacy and allow DJI to access certain data on your device in order to be allowed to use the camera. If you disagree, the camera will lock you out after the 5th time you use it. There is even a clause in the contract that the user must agree to waive their right to go to court should a legal dispute arise.

Action 2 is not GoPro replacement its an beefed up insta360 Go 2 .
The amount of pov shoots I started taking increased lot.
The best part about this camera is small size and hit record and enjoy the moment.
Magnetic mount is just ❤️.
Magnets changed the game, I stuck it to round pole , gym barbell , necklace is the most used item.
4k quality is superb.
I have used GoPro hero 9 previously, I can defiantly say , Action 2 low light is better than GoPro .
Dynamic range go pro is little better(negligible for me) I far prefer the mountability than little extra dynamic range.
skin tones are perfect , GoPro makes skin orangish.
Heating is there but for short clips of 5mins & if air flow is good , its not an issue.
On a sunny day , if you use the camera it records max 10mins.
heating is moderate to bearable during cool weather. Its not untouchable hot as reviewers said.

This camera, is awesome. Compact High quality, great sharpness, decent battery life, small but informative display, toch response is too good, video stability is really good, and in ultra wide mode it’s even wider then GoPro hero 10,,
Smooth and simple easy-to-use UI, it’s pretty good…
But only drawback is its heating issue.. camera hreats alot, even within a few minute of 4K 120fps camera will reach at an alarming temperature 🌡️…

釣りやパックラフトでの撮影用にと購入しました。デザインやコンセプトはかなり気に入っているのですが、アクションカムとして使用するには致命的とも言える欠点があり、残念ながら返品の手続きに入るつもりです。
まず本体がさわれないほど熱くなります。誇張ではなくホントに「アッツ！！」って声に出るほど熱くなります。
秋の室内での使用なので、室温は高くても25℃以上にはなっていないと思います。
さらに困ったのは熱くなったうえ強制的に撮影停止します。4K30FPSで22〜23分で停止しました。
今後、真夏の炎天下、直射日光での使用もありえると思いますが、不安しかありません。
秋の環境下でコレなので・・・
冒頭にも申しましたがデザイン・コンセプトは気に入っているので非常に残念でなりませんが、

I had been quite skeptical about the heating issues, rest all from the research on internet was already quite satisfactory.
One most have right expections on what to expect from action cameras.
For me all items are checked and works perfectly.
The most important factor here is it’s a unique camera. Using it in wearable mode is quite asthetic. I wish brand invests more in making such products.
I cannot express how handy and sturdy are the magnetic mounts.
I was never find of putting camera on helmet mount. This one is just as tiny and handy as it can get for helmet mounts.
As long as you don’t want to shoot longer 4k videos, it would never disappoint.
4K takes huge amount of processing hence heating and battery would be the factors adversely affected.

This is not an action camera exactly but is capable of despite given its form factor. This is a great outdoor camera with good stabilisation. This is doing wonders when it comes to hyperlapse.
But it fails tremendously on the heating department. Doesn’t even last for 6 minutes in 4k@30 even at 24 C. It’s also just average in low light conditions.
I have requested both seller as well as DJI to provide free magnetic case which it didnt come in the box but no response from them yet.

Pünktlich zum von DJI orchestrierten Start of Communication waren sie da, die fertig produzierten (Werbe)-Videos der YT Influencer Szenegrößen und haben die CAM so richtig abgefeiert. Tenor: Alles mega! 519 Euro (für die teurere Combo) sportlich, aber hey, die braucht man jetzt einfach.
Jetzt ist die Cam da und kann vieles gut und manches einfach gar nicht gut.
Der Formfaktor ist irre, die Modularität stark, das Zusammenklipsen geht so leicht von der Hand, man mag es sich gar nicht mehr anders vorstellen. Die magnetische Kette, genial. Das Ding ist so klein, dass es in eine Cappucinotasse passt um B-Roll zu drehen. Im Sonnenschein ist die Bildqualität gut, Rocksteady funktioniert bombe und Hurra.
Gar nicht so gut ist die Bildqualität im Innenbereich unter nicht Tageslicht-Bedingungen. Hier setzt der Automatikmodus, die ISO hoch. Der kleine Bildsensor kann die Physik nicht überlisten und fängt sehr schnell an deutlich zu Rauschen. Klar, es gibt einen manuellen Modus, aber viel Besserung bringt der eben auch nicht.
Auch die Hitzeentwicklung der Cam ist ein Abstrich. Das Ding wird gerade in der 4K Einstellung schon bei 30 FPS so warm, dass ein Winter-Release vom Hersteller auf jeden Fall vorausschauend war. Bei 4K 60 und 4K 120 dauert es bei entsprechender Umgebungstemperatur nicht lange bis die Überhitzungswarnung kommt.
Die Akkulaufzeit ist aus meinen zwei Tagen Erfahrung kurz. Gerade ausschließlich mit dem Einzelmodul ist hier je nach Aufnahmemodus schon deutlich vor einer halben Stunde Schluss. Falls nicht sowieso der recht knapp bemessene interne Speicher die Aufnahmezeit vorzeitig beendet hat.
Kurzum, würde die Kamera 300 Euro kosten, wäre Sie ein absoluter No-Brainer. Das für den Einsatz als Action-Cam Outdoors mit entsprechenden Abstrichen bei der Bildqualität durch den kleinen Sensor und der Überhitzungsthematik.
Für 519, resp. 400 nur mit Batteriemodul ist das aus meiner Sicht einfach zu viel mit den aktuell vorhandenen Einschränkungen.

Seller appario is not shipping the free magnetic case with camera, even I did not get it and customer care has absolutely no clue about it.
So I found the official Dji distributor in Delhi, contacted them and went there to get my free case, they can also ship it to you in your city.
So yes, you will get your free case, just need a little effort from your side.
Regarding the camera, it does heat up indoors but the quality of action cameras is anyway pathetic indoors, they are meant to be used outside.
I recently went to spiti in August and used the camera for hours, even shot a milky way by providing the camera constant charging through a powerbank, it did not heat up even once. Will definitely heat up in 40 degrees plus temperatures.
It is a bit delicate for an action camera, not rugged so had to be careful while using it.
Stabilisation is awesome. 4k 120 is not a gimmick and definitely useful.
Bought it for 26k, definitely worth it.
But something important to consider before you buy it, if the screen or lens gets damaged, we will have to ship it to other country for repair at our own cost…it does not have a replaceable battery system so not too sure what needs to be done when the battery gets weak after years of use(if the camera survives for such a long time because it is delicate).
