I own a few DJI products and I love them.
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Action 3.
I hated it, it feels like a budget Action Can, everything about it feels budget.
The battery life is outstanding but the quality of film at that price point is very disappointing, talking of price point, for that kind of money, I’d expect a case to be part of the kit.
Maybe the next reincarnation will tick all the boxes, watch as many YouTube reviews about this and make your own mind up, I sent mine back for a refund.

Had great hopes, have greater disappointment. Video is not sharply focused. Some say the issue would be resolved with firmware update. What if it is not resolved? Would amazon take it back after 30 days? I purchased dji wireless mic as well hopping that it would make a great combination. An utter disappointment.
How a reputable company like dji can let badly performing gadgets leave their factory?

UPDATE: I wish I could have kept this camera but dji’s continued same response i.e “we are still investigating the focus issue” forced me to send the camera back. DJI! You should at least inform your customers how long you would take to complete your investigation and what options you would likely offer as solution. Your customer support was disappointing.

The picture quality is just very average. Focusing problems, blurry image. I had insta360 One RS before and comparing the videos it was way better than this. As much as I love anything else about the camera I had to return it as it is unacceptable for a DJI product to be such an average quality. I have to say the IS with Horizon lock is the best I have seen so far.

This video cam has a great set of features but DJI have opted for a policy to force the user to download a phone app, to link the phone with the device and then register BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT!! If you do not register within 5 power ons it locks up and cannot be used at all until you do! What an appalling practise!!! Mine linked ok but if you look online you can see that many have had problems getting this to work.

Really disappointed with this one as I’m a huge DJI fan and use their drones & Pockets.
There is real need for a camera this small/shape that has all the action camera functions and it’s durability but with DJI pocket 2s quality.
The cons
The footage in normal indoor lighting is “noisy” & doesn’t come close to an iPhone 12, 13 or 14s image quality no matter the settings.
You can’t tell (other than file size) the difference in quality from 1080 all the way up to 4k.
When outside if it’s a bright day and the camera is filming you, you are left with a light glazing which makes the image look slightly out of focus.
The pros.
The audio that this little thing can capture is great even in windy conditions.
Filming in 120 fps when outside with good lighting (I must add) the footage looks good problem is 120fps is in a sense slow mo when brought into post.
Well built, solid & has classic smooth easy to use DJI operations.
A camera this size, shape, water resistance & toughness needs to be developed for vloggers as it’s great on a head mount, car mount, filming in the gym or out and about and has great inter changing batteries, audio ability & is a solid build. If it could capture like the pocket 2 but be built into an action 3 it would be the perfect travel/action/vlogging little camera.
The size of the lens on this device is bigger than the pocket 2 so it’s definitely possible and if the image looked as good as the pocket does in all lights this camera would fly of the selfie. So for the same price I’d advice you to get the pocket 2 but the pocket 1 is still better video quality than the action 3 so if you want to save a little more then go for the pocket 1.
