Received item today – all the way from UK to Africa Zambia.
Gimbal won’t function or charge . Used the cable it came with and it’s not responding.
Worst thing is , I’m unable to return it cz I’m all the way in Africa

I had the Smooth Q2 and was happy with it so it was a no brainer for me to upgrade to the Q3 to better handle vertical videos.
It all started well, but on the second day of use, the knob that locks the arm broke so it wasn’t holding it in place anymore. Even worse, after only a month the joystick fell off so the gimbal is now unusable.
I used the gimbal 1-2 times a week for a 30′ Instagram live, so it took less than 10 pretty normal uses to see it fall apart. I guess that’s why it’s cheaper than the competition… Spend less spend twice eh? Lesson learned.

This product provides a great value for its price. If you just get into recording the moments of your wonderful trips in a cinematic way on your smart phone, you can’t go wrong with the purchase. I can easily get through a day of filming with it, and the stability is good as well. The smoothness of the operation was surprising, and the solid feel gives the user plenty of confidence. So after owning it for only few days and hardly having any time to really get used to it, The action was smooth, it all was very intuitive, no noise at all, and the end result was completely stable.The app makes it easy to adjust and connect to Bluetooth. All the settings can be managed from your phone via the app. super easy.Overall I am happy with the purchase. For the price, quality and image stability I think it’s a great deal.

This is my first gimbal and I’m new to shooting video so have found there is definitely a learning curve. A bit like learning to drive, it takes time before all movements become smoothly co-ordinated and the choice of mode becomes second nature. I have used this gimbal a few times now and it functions as expected most of the time but occasionally seems to throw a wobbly in terms of losing stabilisation. Maybe it is user error or inexperience regarding its limits. For the relatively low price paid and for a first gimbal I am happy with it. I went with this one because, compared with it’s competitors like the DJI OM4, the Smooth Q3 was better value and based on YouTube footage had much better stabilisation and a better physical button interface. A good starting point for most I would imagine. My 12 year old son has had fun with it too and initial results were encouraging.
