Da felice possessore per un breve periodo di uno Smooth Q, voglio rivolgermi a chi si sta approcciando al mondo del videomaking (amatoriale o anche semi-pro, perché no?) e intende acquistare questo gimbal straordinario.
Iniziamo col prendere atto che Zhiyun sta devastando il settore con i suoi prodotti eccezionali a prezzi che fino a qualche anno fa non erano nemmeno immaginabili. Non mi dilungo a parlare del gimbal, che fa il suo dovere e lo fa bene, anzi in maniera egregia, né delle millemila funzioni finalmente azionabili senza praticamente toccare mai lo schermo dello smartphone, né stare a sbavare e lodare quella strepitosa rotella per il fuoco o lo zoom… Voglio spostare la vostra attenzione all’implementazione dell’uso di questo fantastico gimbal con l’app Filmic Pro, un’applicazione che trasforma il vostro smartphone in una vera macchina da presa in miniatura con una facilità d’uso disarmante. Il lavoro degli sviluppatori di questa app è andato oltre ogni previsione e ha reso questo gimbal uno strumento perfetto. Giusto a titolo informativo, “Insane”, il recente stupendo film di Soderbergh, è stato INTERAMENTE girato con tre iPhone 7 Plus e l’applicazione Filmic Pro. Vi consiglio di cercare su YouTube il video dal titolo seguente: “FiLMiC Pro + Zhiyun Smooth 4 Tutorial (iOS & Android)” e correrete ad acquistarlo.

P.S. Secondo tantissimi recensori lo zoom va a scatti su device Android mentre su iOS la fluidità è eccezionale. Spero per i possessori di Android in un aggiornamento che risolva questo bug.

Got this with lot of excitement, but its crap as it takes time to stabilise to start, once we put effort to stabilise and start it, it just drops down sidewards. It seems like it doesnt have power to support phone weight.. Also its hard to place the phone in the socket. Lost interest in all the mobile gimbals now. waste of time

Good bit of kit, works well with my iPhone 12 max – does struggle to stay level if I leave it in the phone case, but no problems with the bare phone & the App is simple enough to use.

Zhiyun Smooth 4 hits the right spot between FUNCTIONALITY & RELIABILITY. Be it for the budding Youtubers or just an accessory for a vacation, this is a must have.
iPhone users out there….this is the perfect match with full compatibility. I compared it with DJI Osmo Mobile 3, which is great in portability and design but lacks in certain features.
Smooth 4 is really sturdy and it does have a good grip.
I use it for my iPhone and GoPro as well. No need for an extra GoPro mount, it directly fits.
The only drawback I found was unavailability of MicroUSB to Lightning Cable for charging my iPhone from the Gimbal. But after extensive searching, found the perfect one.
All together a very good Gimbal. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !

It is a good stabiliser, but there is no price stability on Amazon itself . I bought for ₹7k + and after 5 days the same device was for 6.5k. And there is some stability problem in gimbal too. And I miss the joystick to control the gimbal manually . Otherwise it is a very useful device . Goes well with iOS devices .
Expecting a firmware update from mfg to control the gimbal manually with the centre jog .

Excellent Product . When using this gimbal I had an issue with the app. The live view is jagged. However the actual recording is smooth. So overall its fantastic.

Bought the Zhiyun Smooth 4 but had to return it. The main issue was that the app was terrible, I couldn’t get it to work properly. To start with it was very unintuitive and there were no proper instructions, which made me inclined to return it immediately. If a company can’t be bothered to write a manual then I feel disinclined to give them my money. But I decided to persevere for a bit, I’m experienced with all sorts of tech equipment and can usually work most things out, but this just didn’t seem to work properly (on an iPhone 11), so I gave up and returned it. The hardware gimbal itself seems okay, although the lack of a joystick really limits it. Got the DJI OM4 instead, a vastly better product with a simple, well-functioning app which was a delight to use after the Smooth.

I’m a videographer by profession and the Smooth 4 is the first mobile gimbal I had tried. While it comes at a price, the gimbal does the job rather well. Stabilization is as good as say a DJI Ronin-S with a full-fledged video camera and the features work as intended. On comparing it to the DJI and Feiyu offerings, I found the DJI the easiest to use (run & gun scenarios) however the stabilization on the Smooth 4 was found to be a tad bit better, Feiyu is out of the picture. Battery life is great, I never found myself in a sticky situation during my field tests in the Ladakh region and the added bonus of charging a device while using the gimbal is well appreciated.
The gimbal definitely works better on iOS than on Android although software can be fixed overtime. Filmic Pro (Check app/play store) now fully supports the Smooth 4 which is a good plus.
All in all, a good product which does what’s expected and is very well built.

This is a great featured mobile gimbal with some head up features like slow motion, pro mode, time lapse, motion lapse, vertigo, 180° and 3×3panorama and object tracking features. Battery backup is great and also has a micro usb port on tilt axis arm to charge your phone as powerbank while using this gimbal. Also has battery indicator lights and a hand wheel on left side to adjust focus or zoom. All settings and menu items can be easily accessed with dedicated buttons control dials. It also comes with tripod and has bluetooth connection to connect with zy play app. Everything is good till now. Read below to know major problem.
Its app zy play sucks. The app UI is great but app crashes some times. The app also very very poor in object tracking. The 3×3 panorama and motion lapse most of the times fails to detect end stop of the pan axis motor and moves to the one end completely and don’t shoot the panorama. The app updates are very less often. The hand grip design is very bad. And the app supports ☆only ●limited number of flagship phones ● If there is no app support for your device then this device is waste of buying. Check before buying this through visiting their website that does your phone in supported device list. I m having Samsung galaxy Note 8 since this phone is supported I m having very less problems.
