The short version:
The Rode NT-USB is an all in one recording package for plug and play studio quality recording needs of any kind be it vocals, pod-casting or musical instruments. With great audio quality and a tight pickup pattern, the microphone is very easy to use and can be combined with other accessories like a boom arm and shock mount to expand its usage capabilities. All in all a great buy for someone who wants to get what they paid for and have it up & running in no time.
The long version:
If you’ve scrolled this far down into this review, it means that you still have doubts or simply want to know the details before you purchase.
This is an excellent microphone but it’s not the audio quality that justifies it’s price tag (even though that’s a major part of it). It’s what is included with the mic that raises it’s value.
While most professional mics come with maybe only a stand, it is very rare to see a quality pop filter to be included. And a pop filter is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT if you are recording vocals. It prevents audio clipping (the type of sound that causes headphone users around the globe to systematically smash their heads into their keyboards) and of course eliminates ‘pop’ sounds or cancels out the sound of wind/blowing air/your heavy breathing/that extremely loud ceiling fan you have running at full speed. This basically saves you a lot of money from buying a separate pop filter.
The mic records over USB at 44khz/16bits max in mono which is adequate as long as the condenser coil is of good quality (which it is). However there is very little you can do to control any aspect of the recording style on the mic. There is no gain control or low frequency cut-off or mic sensitivity control. You can however go into the windows sound options and adjust the ‘volume’ of the device which auto calibrates everything accordingly. The recording bit rate and bit depth can also be changed here. Everything is (Fascistically) preset to a level that the Rode overlords deemed correct.
The good news is… it works!
Then what are those giant knobs on the side of mic for?
Well, they are solely for the latency free monitoring system built into the mic that you can use by plugging in a set of headphones/speakers(not recommended)/line-out into the provided jack. The knob on the top controls how much of the mic input you want to hear over the desktop audio and the knob on the bottom controls the volume of the headphones themselves. This useful while doing voice-overs, live-streaming or pod-casting to cringe immediately at how terrible you sound in real life.
The mic itself is well built out of metal, sturdy, satisfyingly heavy & perfect for killing rats (that would definitely void your warranty). The included table top stand does a good job but it would ideally used with a boom arm or another type of stand depending on your nature of use.
The Rode NT-USB is a no frills, all rounded package for the raring-to-go amateur/prosumer looking for an easy to use studio recording experience.

This is a great mic if you want to set up your online meeting experience or use it for some other professional use. I’m super happy with this mic. There are just 2 things I would like you to know before you purchase this mic.
1. This is a super high quality super sensitive mic. So, it would catch even background noises, fan noise, AC noise and so on. So, unless you have a studio environment, don’t expect a 100% noise-free experience. But yes it cancels a lot of noise. I’ve personally found that turning off the fan and running AC works best.
2. After getting this mic, must install the RODE Connect app. It is a must-have when using this mic. Watch a few YouTube videos on how to use this app, but once you get a hang of it and play around with it a bit, you will just simply love the RODE Connect app. With this app, you will get even better noise cancellation and DSP (digital signal processing). The app works great and it’s a must-have.
When I first got the mic I was not aware of the app and I faced a few issues like many apps auto setting the mic gain, noise issue etc. After getting the RODE Connect app and learning it a bit, now everything is running super smooth. So, make sure you don’t make the same mistake as I did.

Diese Bewertung gilt dem Set “Kondensatormikrofon + Mikrofonarm” – Der vorgeschlagene Arm von Trust ist NICHT geeinget für dieses Mikrofon! Die Gelenke sind zu Schwach um das Mikro zu tragen und die Öffnung ist zu klein um es anzubringen.
Kauft gerne das Mikro, aber nicht im Set!
Ich werde diese Bewertung selbstverständlich löschen, falls ich mitbekomme, dass dieses Set so nicht mehr angeboten wird.

It sounds okay, but it captures a lot of background noise when compared to other lower-budget mics, which makes it unusable without a properly acoustically treated room. It seems expensive (₹10.8k) based on its output and background noise. Review all points before purchasing, as these are non-returnable but replaceable.

Ich habe mir dieses Mikrofon aufgrund guter Rezensionen auf YouTube zugelegt. Ich nutze es selbst für Videoaufnahmen und für Telekonferenzen. Nachdem ich allerdings jetzt weiß, wie gut dieses Mikrofon ist, werde ich wohl auch Hörbücher damit aufnehmen.
Ich hatte 11 Jahre lang ein Samson G-Track und das Grundrauschen dieses alten Eisens war der Grund, nach Alternativen zu suchen. Dabei stieß ich auf einen Youtuber, der das Rode NT-USB direkt live nach dem Auspacken in seiner Sendung einsetzte. Keine Möglichkeit, irgendetwas nachzubearbeiten und ich konnte selbst mit guten Kopfhörern kein Grundrauschen wahrnehmen. Beindruckend! Gekauft!
Der gute Eindruck bestätigte sich bei mir auch nach dem Kauf. Grundrauschen? Ja, aber nur wenn man den Nachverstärker im PC auf über 95 Prozent stellt. Halt nein! Das war mein Silent PC. Würden die drei Lüfter nicht dieses leichte, kaum wahrnehmbare Rauschen erzeugen, würde das Rode Mikrofon auch nichts wahrnehmen, ohne dass ich spreche.
Wer Hörbücher aufnehmen möchte und keine Filter einsetzen möchte, findet hier ein richtig gutes Mikrofon dafür.
Aber auch im normalen Einsatz überzeugt mich das Rode. Plug & Play funktioniert hier par excellence. Kein Einstellen nötig. Einstecken und los geht’s!
Der mitgelieferte Tischständer ist nett und hat einen Gummiabsorber eingebaut. Ich nutze es allerdings mit einem Mikrofonarm. Mit meinem alten Samson hatte ich immer etwas Schwierigkeiten, weil dessen Gewicht so groß war. Mit dem Rode ist es dagegen ein Traum.
Die Benutzerfreundlichkeit bringt auch einen kleinen Nachteil mit sich. Das Mikrofon hat keinen eigenen Gain-Regler. Wie laut es ist, kontrolliert man über die Soundcontrol-Einstellungen am PC/Mac. Das mag der eine oder andere Profi nicht so mögen. Mir persönlich ist es nicht so wichtig.
Soll man dieses Mikrofon empfehlen? Klar! Bestimmt gibt es bessere Mikrofone. Aber bei dem Preis spielt das Rode erste Geige und klingt dabei ziemlich gut.

Ich hatte bedenken, aber es funktioniert wirklich sehr gut wenn man ein paar Settings für solche Entfernungen anpasst. Natürlich hört es sich noch einmal anders an wenn man 10-20cm davor sitzt, was aber zu verkraften ist. Klare Empfehlung für alle die keine Lust auf Headsets etc. haben und nicht mehr das Störgeräusch im Channel sein wollen 😉

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe das Mikrofon vor ca. 3 Monaten gekauft und bin immer noch unglaublich fasziniert!!! Ich habe das Mikrofon gekauft, um meine Stimme für einige Videos aufzunehmen (so ne Art “Erzählerstimme”). Dabei ist es unglaublich wichtig, dass die Stimme sauber und klar aufgenommen wird. Das ist mit diesem Mikrofon auf jedenfall möglich!!!
Ich bin ehrlich zu euch. Die Konfiguration unter Windows 10 mit Audacity hat etwas Zeit in Anspruch genommen. Das lag nicht an dem Gerät selber, sondern an der Software und den Audiotreibern. Also nicht demotivieren lassen :D! Auch das Finden der richtigen Position kann etwas Zeit in Anspruch nehmen. Natürlich ist das nur wichtig, wenn man die bestmöglichen Aufnahmen erzeugen möchte. Für Skype und Teamspeak heißt es anschließen und Spaß haben 😀
Die Verpackung macht einen unglaublich edlen Eindruck. Man sagt ja bekanntlich “der erste Eindruck ist entscheidend”. Und das Gefühl eines “hochwertigen” Mikrofons fängt hier schon bei der Verpackung an! Hier gibt es ja schon einige Bilder die das sehr gut demonstrieren.

Das Mikrofon von Rode wurde mir von Experten empfohlen, da ich eins benötigte für die E-learning Aufnahmen. Der Ton ist mitunter das wichtigste.
Damit man sich nur auf die Stimme konzentrieren kann sollte es nicht hallen und Umgebungsgeräusche einfangen. Ich hatte meinen TV im Nebenraum laufen gelassen und bei geschlossener Tür gehört, in den Aufnahmen ist davon nichts zu hören.
Stimmaufnahmen: Ich musst erst den richtigen Abstand und Winkel finden, so dass die Aufnahme satt klingt.
Hier ist das Mikro ziemlich empflindlich. Ein paar Zentimeter entfernter (5 cm) und es hallte, obwohl ich einen sehr kleinen Raum zur Aufnahme nutze. Aber erstmal richtigen Abstand gefunden, klingt es hammer profesionell!
Abstrich: Das mitgelieferte Stativ ist aus Plastik und kann dementsprechend das Mikro nicht stabil halten. Man muss schon mehrere Male die Position ausklügeln, wegen Gewichtsverlagerung, damit es nicht umkippt.
Und bestenfalls während den Aufnahmen nicht stupsen.
Fazit: Es gibt weitaus teurere Artikel, die weniger leisten können. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf und wem das Stativ nicht stört, dem sei 100% dazu geraten!
