I have given 5 star only because of the vendor’s customer handling skills. The first product that I received was slightly defected according to me. So I asked for the replacement. The vendor sent me a replacement piece without any questions asked and collected the defected piece. Coming to the sound quality. Let’s just say it’s not the best BUT it’s definitely better in comparison with the in-built MICROPHONE of your phone/camera. Please note that if you are using this with a phone then you will need to buy a separate cable. i.e TRS to TRRS. It’s available on amazon. This comes with TRS to TRS cable which will not work on smartphones.

C’est un micro extrêmement conseillé par divers youtubeurs qui en vantent les mérites. J’ai fais confiance aux critiques et je me suis dis « pourquoi pas ? ». Eh bien je vais vous le dire:
Si vous avez un boîtier « amateur » (donc en dessous de 1000€) le son sera pire qu’avec le micro intégré. Ce n’est pas la faute du micro mais bien celle du boîtier. Ils sont pourvus de pré amplificateur qui font que lorsque l’on place un micro dessu, sa sensibilité est décuplée ! Et rien ne sert de baisser la sensibilité du boîtier: sur mon Ninon D5300 même en sensibilité 1/20 on entend une sorte de bruissement constant, même lorsque je parle, claque des mains, crie etc et ça en intérieur ! Je ne l’ai pas testé en extérieur mais avec le vent ça doit être pire !
Alors je me suis dis que si il ne marchait pas convenablement avec mon boîtier je pourrais enregistrer ma voie par dessus la vidéo avec mon Mac. Eh bien apparemment il faut un adaptateur car le Mac ne reconnaît pas le micro, idem pour l’Iphone !
Avec un enregistreur Olympus classique, qui lui reconnaît le micro, on retrouve exactement le même problème de bruissement constant. Autrement dit le micro est inutilisable si on a pas un Sony ASR III ou autre boîtier à 2500€…
Donc si vous êtes dans mon cas, je vous déconseille fortement de l’acheter car même en poste production il est impossible de complètement dissimuler le bruissement.

I record video with my Conon 70D and audio with my Galaxy S8. This is easy to sync later. The camera is not capable of recording the sound in the format I like nor is it as crisp or clean. With my smartphone, the Røde adaptor and an external app I can record clean, crisp sound outdoors at 48khz WAV which is very easy to sync later.
I also trialled plugging the mic into my camera and it had a hum and more noise. On further investigation, this is the camera, not the microphone.
This microphone comes with a Global 2 year guarantee when purchased from this seller, which is really important for me as I live in Sweden. I was shocked to discover last year that Samsung does not as I bought a Galaxy S7 in India which did not work in Europe and was not guaranteed at all. In fact Samsung produces inferior products for the Indian market, even though they are the same price as Europe.
This time I did my homework and am very satisfied with my purchase.

This device is not for you if you are not tech savvy. You cant just buy it and start using by attaching it with your mobile or camera as it is not directly compatible to any of the device, be it android or iphone. Before buying try to explore about the different attachments you will actually need to use it with your phone/camera. The user manual is of no help. I am not a tech expert so I gifted it to my son who somehow was able to identify and procure the attachment needed and use it with his android phone. However, even with the attachment the device didn’t run with my iphone xr.
Pros: The sound quality and noise cancellation is very good.

Works great when paired with cameras and phones with a 3.5mm jack. For phones you need the TRRS to TRS cable. However, if you have a USB C only port on your phone necessitating a dongle, you will need luck on your side. I have a OnePlus 7T with a OnePlus USB C to 3.5mm dongle and that cannot seem to provide power to the microphone, so it’s a useless combination. Thankfully it still works on my camera.

Bedarf:
Ich habe für Youtube ein Mikrofon gesucht um dies an meiner Canon RP anzuwenden. Ich wusste im Vorfeld garnicht das es aktive und passive Mikrofone gibt. Da ich jetzt nicht der Held der Batterien und Akkus bin (hab bei der Camera schon genug Stress damit) wollte ich gerne ein Mikro ohne Batterie. Da gibt es ja garnicht so viele.
Suche:
Also fleissig Videos geschaut. Hat mir aber nicht viel gebracht. Meistens werden in solchen Mikrofonvergleichsvideos irgendwelche 300 € teuren Mikrofone vergleichen. Das brachte mich eh nicht weiter (meine Frau genehmigt mir nie 300 € für ein Mirko 🙂 ) Also bei Amazon etwas umgeschaut und dann diese Mikro entdeck. Fand ich jetzt sehr gut von der Größe. Der Windschutz ist auch dabei.
TEST
Als ich dann das Mikro bekommen habe musste ich natürlich direkt einen Test machen. Ich habe in unterschiedlichen Abständen (50 cm und 1 m) getestet und mit sowie ohne Windschutz. Ich setze das Mikro hauptsächlich im Innenbereich ein. Bei meinen Test war das Mikro dem internen Kameramikro haushoch überlegen. Ein viel klarerer Klang. Ich fand es jetzt im Abstand 50 cm und 1 m fast gleich. Windschutz brauchte jetzt (OK im Innenbereich) keinen unterschied. Aber ganz wichtig … man muss in das Mikro sprechen … Ton von der Seite wird ganz ganz schwach aufgenommen.
Fazit
Für mich das absolut gute Mikro. Für den Preis (bei mir März 2019 … 44€) finde ich es super. Eine Kleinigkeit … ein Beutel oder eine Tasche wären schön … aber geht auch so.

Tja, wie das so oft ist, schaut man sich den Durchschnitt der Bewertungen an und liest dann vor allem die sehr guten und sehr schlechten Bewertungen, um sich ein Bild zu machen. Wenn ein Produkt insgesamt so gut bewertet ist und man so viele begeisterte Stimmen liest, denkt man sich, dass man damit ja nicht viel falsch machen kann. Und das ist grundsätzlich auch so … ABER: so begeistert, wie viele hier, kann ich leider nicht sein.
Verarbeitungsqualität:
Das Mikrofon selbst ist sehr schön klein und macht optisch wie auch haptisch einen soliden und gut verarbeiteten Eindruck. Keine High-End-Qualität aber auch kein Chinaschrott. Für diesen Preis absolut in Ordnung. Das gilt auch für die Halterung zum Befestigen auf der Kamera. Lediglich der Windschutz wirkt meiner Meinung nach sehr billig und fühlt sich nicht gut an. Meistens brauche ich den ohnehin nicht, ohne den Windschutz sieht das Mikrofon aber irgendwie seltsam aus.
Größe:
Super klein, super praktisch – passt quasi schon fast in jede Jackentasche. Da kann man wirklich nicht meckern.
Tonqualität:
Hier kommt meiner Meinung nach der Knackpunkt des Ganzen. Sehr viele andere Rezensionen schwärmen von der Tonqualität und sind total begeistert. Da kann ich mich leider nicht anschließen. Die Qualität ist sicherlich besser, als bei (fast) alle kamerainternen Mikrofonen, aber eben auch nicht so gut, wie viele hier behaupten.
Im direkten Vergleich zum VideoMic Pro von Rode ist der Ton deutlich unklarer, rauscht mehr und enthält viel mehr Umgebungsgeräusche, die man eigentlich gar nicht haben möchte. Klar, nicht umsonst kostet das VideoMic Pro dementsprechend auch eine ganze Ecke mehr. Wer aber wirklich Wert auf guten(!) Ton legt, sollte lieber etwas mehr Geld in die Hand nehmen.
Wenn es nur darum geht, besseren Ton, als direkt aus der Kamera zu bekommen, kann hiermit schon durchaus zufrieden sein. Ich persönlich nutze zwei dieser Mikrofone für Interviewsituationen. Aber nicht, um den Ton nachher auch wirklich zu verwenden. Den Ton nehme ich mit einem Ansteckmikro + Funkstrecke und Audiorecorder auf. Die Mikrofone dienen nur dazu, später Bild und Ton von mehreren Kameras leichter zu synchronisieren. Dafür sind die Mikrofone sehr gut geeignet, da man gerade bei etwas Entfernung zur Tonquelle und bei entsprechenden Umgebungsgeräuschen mit den internen Mikrofonen der Kameras schnell an seine Grenzen kommt.
Für Vlogger, die die Kamera eine Armlänge von sich entfernt halten, dürfte das Mikrofon wiederum vermutlich auch vom Ton her sehr gut geeignet sein.
Positiv:

+ Aufhängung zum Abfangen von Geräuschen
Negativ:
– mittelmäßige Tonqualität
Fazit:
Aufgrund der mittelmäßigen Tonqualität nicht wirklich als Richtmikrofon für den “professionellen” Einsatz zu gebrauchen. Bei dem Preis kann man sich aber auch nicht wirklich beschweren. Für Vlogger oder um einfach besseren Ton, als den von der Kamera zu bekommen aber sicherlich sehr gut!

If you’re recording from your camera and need an upgrade, it’ll prove to be a Godsent. It’s that good. It does pick considerably more background noise when compared to my Blue Snowball. But it’s nothing that a Denoise from an audio editor can’t change. It’s clean, however I recommend keeping your audio input sensitivity to as low as you can without sounding muted, because it can peak quite easily. Once you deal with that, this is a no-brainer.

This is a must have device if you are a youtuber or a content creator… This reduces the over-all disturbances in the sound and records your voice that too very crispy and clear. I’ve been using this with note 5 pro but unfortunately it doesn’t work on the default camera app.. I’m using “open camera” app available on play store for my videos… One important thing if you are planning to use this with phone is that default cable that comes with this mic doesn’t usually work with phone because it has a TRS adaptor and phones support TRRS adaptor… You can purchase a SC7 TRS to TRRS adaptor so that it can support perfectly.. if you like this review then please do like it and check out the audio difference on my YouTube channel “rider avi”.. do comment if you have any questions for me

Bought this for my camping vlogs as I use my Samsung Galaxy S7 to record, but wanting better sound quality. Tested with and without the microphone plugged in. Now you won’t notice much difference in volume, but you get a more rich sound and the dead cat cover ensures you don’t get that naff wind distortion ruining your videos. If like me you want this for your phone, you’ll need the SC4 adaptor cable too, otherwise it won’t work on any smartphone including Apple phones. You’ll also need a mount similar to the ones you get on a selfie stick but it has a cold shoe mount to attach the microphone, I’ve bought the Ulanzi one from Amazon and can recommend that too, sturdy metal. Having now used this a few times in various conditions, the sound quality is excellent, even picked up my voice clearly on a windy boat trip. Would this be without this mic for vlogging now.

Amazing mic. If you want good sound quality in your videos and you have a tight budget then this is mic for you. I noticed little constant fuzziness sound while recording sound directly into the camera in auto mic settings . But when I switched to manual mic settings it is fixed. You can also fix this in post .

Il “gatto morto” antivento è davvero ben fatto e funzionale.
Da il meglio di sè frontalmente sotto il metro di distanza….poi la qualità maggiore rispetto ai microfoni interni delle reflex diminuisce.
Guardate il video…anzi è il caso di dire sentite il video
