After seeing loads of reviews and Youtube videos of impressive results with this, jumped on it during Black Friday.
The gimbal itself is great, really smooths out handheld and moving shots and gives professional looking results.
But the DJI app for it… Oh dear. I now realise why all of the impressive Youtube videos were shot using iPhones, not because the Apple camera is necessarily better (not getting into that argument fanboys, I really don’t care!), but because the Android app doesn’t have all of the functionality which it’s Apple store counterpart enjoys.
Problem 1 – 30FPS is your only option on the android app, no 60FPS or higher is possible. This is also why slo-mo is missing from the Android app, as 30FPS is not fast enough to slow down without becoming jerky.
Google / Androids fault this one apparently, seems that they refuse to allow third party apps to use the phones camera at more than 30FPS, whereas Apple have no problem with this. Using a gimbal to smooth out unwanted motion is great, but if you can’t use a higher frame rate for silky smooth playback, that’s not cool at all. Yes, you can use this as a straightforward gimbal with the phones own camera app to get 60FPS etc, but then you can’t make use of some of the features the OSMO boasts, such as auto-tracking and other functions which require the phone to be able to control the gimbal directly.
Problem 2 – It is not possible to save video / photos shot using the DJI app to SD Card. They will ONLY save to the phones own storage. This is despite DJIs spec sheet and FAQ saying that you can save to SD card on Android.
From DJIs forums, people have been screaming out for this simple ability for over a year, DJIs response was to repeatedly tell people that they could already do this by giving incorrect instructions on how, then eventually they admitted that it’s not currently possible, and they don’t seem bothered about updating the app to include this. It’s not possible on current nor previous versions of Android.
They have STILL not however removed that claim from the OSMO webpage, despite admitting that it’s not correct and it being pointed out to them multiple times. Various workarounds have been tried by the community with no success, or end up being too long winded for me to bother with. From the DJI forums again, it appears that you are also unable to install the 280MB app anywhere but the device itself, not to an SD card.
Yes, phones nowadays are having more and more internal storage, but usually at a higher price for the handset. I should not need to buy a new phone to have enough space to save high res video from this app when I have a 200GB SD Card installed which is barely 20% full.
Nice physical item, let down by software support for Android. If you only intend to use it as a stabiliser and use the Android camera app, certainly good… But if you don’t need the features provided by the app, there are cheaper options which perform just as well. If you want the extra functionality which the app brings, be warned it’s cut down compared to the iPhone version, and you had better have enough free space in the phones native storage because that’s where your footage is going.

Feauters are awesome,need practise before going to original video. Excelent conditions,good battery, easy access, good stability. More feauters need to know all before your going to work. First spend 2-3 days with this gimble.

Ā DJI : une marque qui sāest dĆ©jĆ clairement fait un nom dans le domaine du loisir avec entre autre une gamme trĆØs vaste de drones (Mavic Air, Mavic Pro, Spark, Phantom, ā¦) et aussi tout le une gamme de stabilisateurs (Osmo Mobile, Osmo Pocket, ā¦).
Pour le stabilisateur Osmo Mobile dont il est question ici, on est dĆ©jĆ Ć la troisiĆØme gĆ©nĆ©ration. DJI a bien fait Ć©voluer son produit, et en plus le prix baisse :
la version 2 Ć©tait vendue Ć 149 euro, la version 3 ici est venue Ć 109 euros en Ā« version de base Ā» et 129 euro en Ā« version combo Ā» (version que je conseille vraiment par rapport Ć la version de base car pour seulement 20 euros de plus, on profite en plus dāune mallette de transport et dāun trĆ©pied). Cāest rare dāavoir des prix qui baissent tout en ayant des performances en hausse, la concurrence profite plutĆ“t souvent du passage dāune gĆ©nĆ©ration n Ć la gĆ©nĆ©ration n+1 pour augmenter ses tarifs.
ā”ļø Les amĆ©liorations par rapport Ć la version 2 :
-Une mallette de transport bien plus petite (au moins 2 fois plus petite). Cāest bien plus pratique, et cāest grĆ¢ce au pied pliant. Ća reste quand mĆŖme difficile de le mettre dans une poche mais Ƨa reste possible avec une grande poche.
-Le port usb permet de recharger son tĆ©lĆ©phone pendant quāon filme. Il est bien placĆ© et le cĆ¢ble usb ne cogne pas contre le support lors des mouvements.
-En deux clics sur le bouton M, on passe du mode portrait au mode paysage sans avoir besoin de dĆ©brancher le tĆ©lĆ©phone ou arrĆŖter de filmer.
-Activ Track 3.0 : grĆ¢ce Ć cette fonction, la camĆ©ra suit automatiquement une personne. On peut aussi faire des Time Lapse trĆØs simplement. Ća permet de faire des vidĆ©os de trĆØs bonne qualitĆ©. DJI maitrise son sujet, la partie matĆ©rielle et la partie logicielle sont trĆØs bonnes.

Franchement pour cette gamme de prix, cāest vraiment excellent.
Je conseille la version combo pour seulement 20 euro dāĆ©cart mais un point reste Ć amĆ©liorer : le trĆ©pied fourni ne rentre pas dans la mallette de transport mais il se glisse sur le cĆ“tĆ© et dĆ©passe donc un peu. Jāai du mal Ć comprendre ce choix, mĆŖme sāil ne remet pas en cause les performances de ce stabilisateur.

š Cette version 3 est franchement mieux que la 2 qui Ć©tait dĆ©jĆ une rĆ©fĆ©rence :
Plus lĆ©gĆØre, plus compacte, plus performante et malgrĆ© tout moins chĆØre. Je ne peux que vous recommander cet achat.
Pour moi, cāest le meilleur stabilisateur sur le marchĆ©, en tout cas dans cette gamme de prix.

Ā If You use it for taking video while walking it gives a good stablization, please watch some youtube tutorials for learning the Gimbal moves and how to shoot using Gimbal.
There is an app provided by DJI, the maker of this product which is available in app store and might be in Play store also., if you use that app You can shoot with some predefined moves available in that app. But the issue is that the music come along with this is not removable and You need to mute it using a video editing software.
Another problem with this app is if You use this app, it will drian the Mobile’s battery very quickly I have seen 10% drain in 1 minute.
You can also use the native camera app to shoot and this will not drain the Mobile Battery which I have tested in iPhone. (The Gimbals buttons works with native Camera app too.
You need to balance the Mobile perfectly after fitting in it in Gimbal otherwise it will drian the Gimal’s battery very easily, since iot need to stabilize the mobile using Gimbals motor.
So I have marked two points in the Mibile case after balancing it in Gimbal so that I can fix it easily during next time.

Its costlier in India compared to the DJI Site, but from the site they wont ship to India.

Well, I have used gimbals from other brands but none other has much stability than DJI osmo. DJI has done the basics right but I found that this gimbal malfunctions if you use roughly or in various angles. The gimbal got stuck while doing the story mode and so I returned it expecting to get a better one. But again it had the same issue , story mode movements malfunctioning. I am fed up of returning and waiting for the product so I am using the same one.

Mimo app upgraded so my redmi note 8 pro is out from Mimo app… So waste my money. You should check dji website wether your phone is match or not. Iphone6and 7 also not match with it… And i darm sure their upcoming updation iphone 10 also disappear from their site. So don’t buy this product. Be careful.

It have major stability issues. It doesn’t support my OnePlus Nord phone properly nd keep tilting in one direction. Take a very long time to balance nd then once the video is started, it get off balance in few seconds. Controls are easy, picture quality and app is good too but no point of paying so much for this if it doesn’t stablize mobile properly while shooting. Also, get heat up very easily.

This is a smooth gimbal that works well with large/heavy phones (mine is a Samsung Note). All the controls are well positioned, but it does not come with any documentation; you need to find and download the manual to learn what multiple presses of the buttons and trigger do.
You also need to download and install the DJI Mimo application on your phone. As of 10-Oct-2019 there is a bug that may cause this to freeze on Android phones the first time you use it, when it runs through its ‘What the buttons do’ tutorial. Set your font size to SMALL before you first run the app. After the one-time ‘buttons tutorial’ has finished, you can reset your font size back to your preferred setting. DJI are aware of this and promise it will soon be cured.
The Bluetooth connection is made through the DJI Mimo app, not the normal Android pairing method.
Some complain of jerky video when doing a slow horizontal pan: That is caused by your phones image stabilisation not this device. Turn off the phones image stabilisation before filming a slow pan shot.
Its battery life is very good.
The combo version comes with a tripod plus hard and soft cases. There is no room in the hard case for the tripod.
After using it extensively for 2-weeks I’m impressed with the results. So despite lacking printed documentation and the minor (but easily to avoid) glitch during the software ‘tutorial’ I am very pleased with it. Find and download the manual whilst you are waiting for it to be delivered.
